Each individual expressive arts session is a unique, immersive experience tailored to your personal journey. Here is a general outline of what you can expect during an individual session:

1. Tuning in

Starting with tuning in with what goes on in your life at the time, you bring your habitual experience in the beginning of the session.

You may set an intention for the session—this could be something like exploring a particular emotion, gaining insight into a situation, or simply engaging in creative play. Setting an intention/theme helps focus the session and guides the creative process.

Based on the intention/theme you bring into the session, art-making process starts following a warm up. We warm up and tune in by arousing the senses, concentrating the mind on what is physically present (people, objects, and space), and developing a sensorimotor awareness of the envisioned shaping possibilities.

2. Art making or play

Based on your intention or the theme you would like to have a closer look at, I will guide you through creative activities. These might include visual arts, dance and movement, music and sound, and writing through journaling and poetry.

The focus is not on creating a "finished" piece of art but on the process of expressing yourself.

You can always go back to the artwork you have created later on, make changes or continue working on it during another session.

3. Reflection and Harvesting

After the creative exploration, you will have time to reflect on your experience. We will explore together what came up during the session. This reflection can lead to new insights, emotional release, or a deeper understanding of your inner world.

We “harvest” with diligence making the connection to where we started and eventually close the session with the hope that the experience has been transformative and the habitual world experience is challenged.

The session might end with a closing ritual, which might involve a brief relaxation exercise, a final thought, or simply taking a moment to acknowledge the work you have done.

Duration and Frequency

A typical individual session lasts between 60 to 90 minutes. Some people benefit from regular sessions, while others find that occasional sessions meet their needs. We will determine the frequency that is best for you together.
